Do you miss the times of playing Tetris on your Gameboy in the 80s and 90s? Well, Tetris Master is a homage to the classic game that also adds some more modern and challenging features that make the game awesome to replay.

The game’s design is very much a nod to the Gameboys of the past. The game’s design features a small, black and white screen located inside a yellow Gameboy-like device. To add to the inspired design, the device’s graphics also feature buttons that you can use to move your blocks if you decide that you don’t want to use the arrows.

The gameplay features a progressive level system, as well as a special game mode. The game mode lets you choose if you want there to be incomplete rows when you start.

Choose your challenge

One of the distinguishing elements of Tetris Master is the option to choose how many starting lines there will be. You can choose anywhere from 0 to 10. Each line added at the start is incomplete and gives you less space to work in the Matrix, at least until you clear the rows. The holes in the lines are all randomized, so there could be quite a substantial challenge to solve, depending on how many rows you chose.

Tetris Master Bonus Lines

Outside of this engaging challenge, the game plays as Tetris games do. You arrange horizontal lines of blocks to complete rows and make them disappear from the Matrix. Every 10 lines you complete, you go up a level. Each level makes the blocks fall faster, making the game harder and harder. You can see what your next block will be in this game, and you can track your high scores.

Tetris Master is not only a great homage to Tetris, but it’s also a real challenge for the pros. If you decide to start with 10 extra rows, you’re going to have to prove you’re a master at Tetris.
