Fish Mahjong is a short and relaxing game in which your goal is to find all the identical tiles with fish. In every level, there will be a different arrangement that you need to solve. You can’t move and match any tile, and instead, they need to be considered available for play to be used.

For each level, you also receive a score. The score depends on how quickly you manage to match all identical tiles. You are given a timer for every level. The leftover time that you have once you win gives you bonus points. The more time, the more bonus points.

Multiple levels to choose from

Fish Mahjong has 15 levels in total. You start from level 1 and beat each consecutive level to unlock the next one. The tile arrangements get more complex as you progress. In the first few levels, there won’t be as many tiles to match. During the later levels, you will need to think your moves through quite a bit more. You can only match tiles that have at least two adjacent sides open.

If you can’t find a matching pair, the game has a Hint button that you can use. Every time you press it, you lose bonus points that you would have otherwise earned at the end of the level.

The timer is important

As already mentioned, in Fish Mahjong your performance gets a score at the end of each level. You receive points from multiple sources. You get points for finding matching tiles, bonus points for not using any Hints, and bonus points for the leftover time you had.

With this in mind, completing the level quickly as you can will improve your score. You can go back and replay a level at any given time if you’re not happy with your performance. The game always records your highest score.
