Mahjong FireFly is a free-to-play arcade-style Mahjong game that gets harder as you progress through the game’s levels. The goal of each level is to clear the board of all the tiles within the given time restrictions. The game features unique tiles, helpful tools, and challenging mechanics that you need to deal with on every level.

This iteration of Mahjong has some modern, simple graphics that keep you engaged while playing, but the focus is the gameplay. There’s little room for errors, as if you end up with no tile matches on the board, you lose the level and need to start over.

Aware At All Times

One of the most challenging aspects of FireFly is that you need to beat the time limit. The game uses the same rules as other Mahjong games – your goal is to clear the board of all tiles by matching identical pieces. The issue is that every level has a time limit that you need to beat. If you fail to clear the board before the timer ends, then you lose.

As you progress through the levels, each consecutive one will have a more challenging board with more pieces. The later levels will test the skills of even the most experienced players.

If you end up with no matching tiles, the game doesn’t shuffle the board – you lose.

Take Advantage of All the Help You Can

Mahjong FireFly does have some helpful tools that you can use. Firstly, the game has a “Hint” tool that you can press whenever you can’t find any matches on the board; it will instantly highlight two matching tiles.

From time to time, the game will highlight the available pieces on the board, which is helpful in finding matching tiles faster. This happens randomly and for a short amount of time. There are also unique “timer” tiles that you can match to get some additional time added to your time limit.

Mahjong FireFly is a game that requires a lot of skill to beat. If you want to become better at the game, check out our main page for Mahjong – it features all of the tips and tricks the pros use.
